Hey everyone! We wanted to offer a quick update on the exciting developments that we’ve been working on at PredIQt. We’re aiming to make PredIQt not just the most user-friendly blockchain-based prediction market out there, but also one of the most user-friendly apps on EOS. We’re really excited to share with you our latest progress.

Thanks to everyone who offered feedback on our Kylin testnet MVP. We’ve incorporated the suggestions and will be launching new markets on the testnet soon. Thank you for your patience as we work out some critical issues to ensure that the mainnet launch is as smooth as possible!

Development

Our development focus as of late has primarily around increased security for the core protocol, more streamlined market resolution, and user interface improvement. We’ve been working on “PredIQt Bank,” a new smart contract that will hold outstanding interest in open markets, helping to keep user funds safe during the market’s duration. We’re also currently working on a full security audit of our contracts prior to mainnet launch.

UI Update

One of the major initiatives we’ve been working on for PredIQt is a complete overhaul of the user interface. On the back end, prediction markets function much like exchanges. As a result, they can be confusing for users who aren’t familiar with the ins and outs of these types of applications. Our goal is to make PredIQt as intuitive and easy-to-use as possible for any type of user. We think we’ve come up with an interface that will make participating in markets easy for non-technical users, but can also offer power users all of the options that they need.

We’ve updated the interface with a completely revamped brand identity, simplification of core features, better explanations of various market options, user profile pages, and more. We’re very excited to share with you the first previews of our new designs. We’ll be releasing more previews soon as we get closer to our mainnet launch. For now, here’s a few teasers.

(Note: some of these screenshots contain test data that isn’t necessarily indicative of markets that will be available at launch).

Oracle Updates

One of the core features of the PredIQt protocol is oracle and resolution flexibility. We’ve built the protocol to allow market creators to use any sort of oracle that’s available on EOS. We’ve also set up the PredIQt core multi-sig, a distributed oracle run by prominent members of the EOSIO community.

More recently, we’ve begun working on integrating the Delphi Oracle, which is one of the most robust and decentralized oracles that exists on the EOS mainnet. The Delphi project was created by EOS Titan and is currently operated by a group of block producers that includes Aloha EOS, Greymass, EOS Rio, EOS DAC, EOS Nairobi, Chainrift, and EOSphere. Each of these block producers regularly submits price data on-chain for EOS/USD, EOS/BTC, EOS/CNY, and BTC/USD price pairs. The contract calculates the median value of all of the prices submitted so that no individual participant can manipulate the price feed singlehandedly. Use of this oracle will provide more streamlined resolution for crypto price markets on PredIQt.

You can find more data and information on the Delphi Oracle on Titan Labs.

We’re also continuing to work with LiquidApps DSPs to integrate DSP-based oracles for future markets.

PredIQt Referral Program

PredIQt is built in such a way that market creators have a strong incentive to promote and drive volume to their markets. But we believe that users drive much of the value for these markets and deserve to share in the upside for markets they’ve helped make successful. As a result, we’ve been brainstorming a referral system that will allow users to earn by promoting markets successfully.

We’re still ironing out the details and building out the code for this system, but we’re hoping to have it in place for mainnet launch. We’ll be following up with more details very soon!
